SportCaster App Launches for iPhone, iPod touch and Android for 2011 Football Season

First App to Combine Sports Scores, Schedules and Stats with Real-Time Twitter Commentary

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – August 31, 2011 – OneLouder, a new developer of socially-powered mobile apps, today announced its SportCaster App is now available for the iPhone and iPod touch on the App Store and Android on Android Market. The app combines live stats, schedules and game summaries with commentary from top sports analysts, players and fans on Twitter. SportCaster is the first new app released by OneLouder, a subsidiary of leading mobile application developer Handmark.

“Sports fans want fast and simple access to scores and stats, but they also want the real story behind what’s happening in the game,” said Evan Conway, President, OneLouder. ”SportCaster offers a whole new way to track games.  It is the first to add a twist of new media to a wealth of traditional sports information and deliver it all in a simple, easy-to-use format.”

According to a recent Pew survey, 92% of consumers are aware of Twitter, but only 13% use it or have an account.  Conway added, “We believe SportCaster is a new kind of gateway app – introducing a whole new audience of sports fans to the real-time benefits of using Twitter, even without a Twitter account.”

SportCaster leverages OneLouder’s new content curation platform to instantly connect fans with the most relevant, real-time Twitter content tailored to specific leagues, athletes and teams – even if they don’t have a Twitter account. This delivers a customized view of the hottest news before it’s picked up by mainstream media, paired with licensed content including the latest scores, stats, league standings, team schedules and more at-a-glance.

Fans can track each game with a live feed of side-by-side tweets from both teams, before, during and after the game. Users can choose to receive a live feed of tweets from the players themselves; expert writers, analysts and bloggers; and from other fans. Additional functionality exists for users who want to log-in with their Twitter account.

Pro and college football leagues are currently supported in SportCaster. Other sports, including pro and college basketball, pro hockey and pro baseball will be added with the start of each upcoming season.

The SportCaster App is available for free from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch at www.itunes.com/appstore and Android Market at https://market.android.com/.
