You Need to Upgrade to Latest TweetCaster – Here’s Why

It is CRITICAL that you upgrade to the latest version of TweetCaster.

Twitter recently asked that all 3rd Party Twitter apps like TweetCaster obtain more detailed permissions from users. (Here is the announcement from Twitter.) We added this new permission process to the latest version of TweetCaster. So, if you have upgraded, you have already gone through this new authorization process for each of your Twitter accounts.

However, if you do not have the latest version of TweetCaster by June 30, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEND AND RECEIVE DIRECT MESSAGES. To upgrade now, go to tweetcaster.com to get the update.

Check “About” within the TweetCaster app to see which version you have. Here are the latest versions:

  • Android: 3.1 (Android Market), 3.1.2 (Amazon), 3.1._ in other stores
  • iPhone: 1.4
  • Windows Phone 7: 1.3
  • Android Tablet (Beta): 0.9

I cant get logged in. It says “Rate limit exceeded. Clients may not make more than 150 requests per hour.” This is very frustrating.

Hi there. TweetCaster does allow tweets over 140 characters. Simply type out the full tweet and tap “Send”. It will then present you with the option to use twtlonger or twtmore service.

Also, you may open links easily. On iPhone, go to Tweet details and tap URL. On Android, tap on tweet and locate “Open link” from menu that is presented.

(This applies to Android and iOS versions of TweetCaster.)

I have the latest Tweetcaster Pro 5.8.2 on Android. When posting a message longer than 140 characters, it doesn’t give me the option to use twtmore service on the pop-up, just twitlonger.

I would much rather use twtmore, what do I need to do?

    • Josh

Currently twtmore is not an option on TweetCaster Android. We may be adding it soon though, so keep looking for it!

hi – im running the purchased version 2.2 (iphone) and can’t access direct messages….can’t seem to update – am I doing something wrong?

    • Josh

You can always click back button on Android. Or click the “Tweet” arrow on iOS to go back to the previous view.

Tweetcaster is saying that my Facebook Login is successful but when I am trying to post to Twitter and facebook, it is actually not logging me in. When I click on the Facebook Icon after Tweetcaster tells me the login is successful, I still am not able to post to Facebook. The icon just looks as if I had not ever logged in. It was working fins until I had to switch to a replacement phone which was still the same phone I had before when it was working fine. Please help.

I am with the United States Power Squadrons and we are ramping up to use Twitter to support boating safety education. Our national site is using two IDs (@BoatingIsFun and @uspseditor). @uspseditor’s profile pic is supposed to be the United States Power Squadrons Ships Wheel. The pic shows well in the timeline in native Twitter, and on my Windows Phone 7.5 Tweetcaster, but does not show on my Android 2.3.4 Tweetcaster. There, only the default grey pic shows. Do you know why?
    Thanks!!

It’s awesome app for iPad – TweetCaster Pro.
But I have one trouble for Facebook Integration.
When I trying to login to Facebook on Setting-Account, then running the Facebook app on iPad and appear the login window. It’s all…..The window will close automaticly – still not appear any word in this window, just close the window and staying the Facebook App…
I tried it with Tweetcaster Free version, it works well.
Please check this trouble…and reply me.
