NEW APP:  1Weather

Sure, there are lots of great weather apps out there, but we saw an opportunity to take a different approach with unique animation and graphics to create a more stylish experience.

Last week we released 1Weather exclusively for Android on the Android Market and immediately saw a fantastic response to the app, including these reviews by our friends at AndroidStatic and AndroidPolice. The app is also rated 4.5 stars with more than 350 user reviews posted in the Market. We’ve been amazed at the overwhelmingly positive response to the app and sincerely thank you all for your support and feedback.

Today, we wanted to provide a quick update on the app that will hopefully help answer some of your questions and concerns…

1. International Support – We are excited to report that we’ve now expanded 1Weather to support more than 80,000 international locations in our 1.1 version currently available on the Android Market. However, international locations outside of the US will not have Radar available.

2. Ice Cream Sandwich/Galaxy Nexus compatibility – The app was code complete at the time ICS launched, but we have now fixed the force close issues when force GPU (hardware) rendering is enabled.

3. Device availability - 1Weather was specifically built for higher-end Android devices based on resolution as it uses heavier animation and graphics than other apps. To ensure the best performance we decided to limit to the best devices and currently do not have any plans for that to change.

4. Ads-free version – While the current free version is ad-supported (we have bills to pay too!), we will be releasing an ads-free version very soon if you want to pay to get rid of the ads.

Download now via the Android Market here.

We will be pushing out additional updates regularly and we’ll do our best to keep you updated on these changes as they happen via Twitter, so make sure to follow us @OneLouderApps. Thanks again for your support and feedback…keep it coming!

Enjoy!

Installed and removed… A few significant shortcomings. Weather alerts are not configurable separately by location so constantly bombarded on multiple cities sheets. I philly want alerts for where I am. Also want local temp on notification bar. It is nice to look at though.

It is really good and nice look weather app!!!
    However…. current location won’t updated when refreshing…

“However, international locations outside of the US will not have Radar available.”

Will it be improved in the (near) future?!?!…

The latest release has given up much convenience with the
elimination of the wether circles for each location in the list. That was great, to be able to see all the weather in
all the locations simultaneously. Now it’s only a location name and the temperature.
Bring back the weather location weather circles on the home page.
