SmartLists Organizes the Chaos of Your Twitter Stream

Lists Home

We love Twitter. Completely. That’s why we built TweetCaster in the first place. But Twitter is a firehose of 140-character snippets flying at you at a thousand miles per hour. It’s chaotic, and frankly, it can be overwhelming. That’s why we built SmartLists into TweetCaster.

SmartLists is more than a new feature. It is an extremely powerful tool for organizing the chaos of your Twitter stream.

IT WILL REVOLUTIONIZE THE WAY YOU USE TWITTER. Really. Here’s how:

  1. Organize – Organize the people you follow into categories, allowing you to you segment your Twitter stream into manageable groups.
  2. Create – Create a new SmartList based on a topic you’re interested in. It’s as simple as entering the topic and letting TweetCaster suggest people for you to add to the list!
  3. Copy/Edit – Know someone else who has a great list? Use the “Make it My Own” feature to copy their list, then add/remove people as you see fit!
  4. View – Once you’ve built some SmartLists, view them individually, merge them together, or view them in your main timeline.

Not only does SmartLists do all these things, it does them simply and easily. You can accomplish any SmartList task in a minute or two.

SmartLists is available immediately on TweetCaster for Android. It is coming next to iPhone, and subsequently to other platforms.

Once you’ve tried it, please leave a comment on how you’re using it. We’d love to hear it!

  1. Hey, sunshine, we’ve added a news article about SmartLists (for Android) on our site.

It seems like a useful app — and it’s just what we needed for sorting Twitter #hashtags, cheers for that!

Nope. With Twitter, you must put @username in body of tweet to limit who can see your tweets. So if you had more than a few people on your list, it would take up a lot or all of your 140 characters.

    Hello,

    I like the smartlist feature

Seems Ok, No automatic URL shortening and no automatic tweet shortening options tho? or have I just missed them ?

    • Josh

URLs shorten automatically. You don’t need to do anything. Just type the full URL and only 20 characters will be counted against the tweet.

And if you type over 140 characters, you will be prompted if you’d like to use Twitlonger to post a long tweet.

when I try to make a list on my mobile it always encounters an error and only save some of the users I selected to be included into the list.

Hi I have only been able to use tweecaster to create a list once as every other time I get a 403 error code.

I would like to know how to fix it so I can create some smartlists.
